Google has yet again become the Brangelina of the Global Search World. Just as the celebrity couple travel the World adopting children-Google continues to add new Family members with the European Union granting clearance for the acquisition today.
After receiving US approval last year, this latest move further solidifies Google's position as a Global leader in search for years to come. Another interesting note is this could also help smooth the road for Microsoft to acquire Yahoo with the current ideology that the two companies are not currently competitors. This decision will surely continue to ruffle the feathers of privacy rivals and certainly some disgruntled competitors crying "fowl".
It is also important to note the financial effects of these trends towards digital globalization with Double Click's stock rising 6% after the announcement today-there is a tremendous amount of value in the financial markets that will ultimately drive technology development in the field of search and consumer informational queries. Stay tuned as the world watches what unfolds next.......
