The first ever Australian Search Summit was held last week, on the 1st and 2nd of March. It was the first of its kind here down under, and pulled a large and expansive audience, with the majority of the crowd coming from SEO and marketing backgrounds. The summit also drew some great international speakers, my personal favourite being the highly renowned Andy Beal. There was also a rare questions and answers seminar with four of the Google team. They gave great insight in how to use the Google webmasters tool to really help your website.
Mr. Andy Beal was a keynote speaker, and gave some incredibly stimulating and informative sessions on keyword research, how to grow an SEO company, and gave some insightful information about the benefits of being a part of SEMPO. Other topics included how to write great SEO copy, linking strategies, site architecture, benchmarking and analytics, and I could go on and on. With exceptional speakers, great venue, and an engaging crowd the Search Summit was a raging success. The ideas that were being presented and techniques that were shown can surely benefit any search marketer. If you are planning on going to next year’s event, I would say it could be the best business decision you could ever make!
